  34.       This coverage contains points that describe centerpoint
  35.       locations of and primary commodity produced by oil and gas
  36.       fields of Southeast Asia (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos,
  37.       Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon
  38.       Islands, Thailand and Vietnam; and parts of Australia,
  39.       China and Taiwan).
  40.     Purpose:
  41.       To delineate the centerpoint locations of and primary commodity
  42.       produced by oil and gas fields in Open File Report 97-470F Maps
  43.       Showing Geology, Geologic Provinces, and Oil and Gas Fields of
  44.       Southeast Asia, which is being compiled as a reference for the
  45.       U.S. Geological Survey's World Energy Project assessment of
  46.       undiscovered, technically recoverable oil and gas resources
  47.       of the world. This coverage is used to produce a map and an
  48.       Adobe Acrobat Portable Document of the map to be published
  49.       on CD-ROM. An Arcview shapefile derived from this coverage is
  50.       used in an Arcview project and an ArcExplorer project.
